Based in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, we have been breeding dogs for 20 years, and our focus is on creating an ideal temperament. We are enthusiastic about the intelligent and affectionate Cane Corso and want to share this breed with those who are interested in welcoming this great companion into their family. We have been breeding corsos for about 5 years.
Many don't realize this breed faced extinction, but a resurgence in the post WWII era has seen it grow in popularity. It is now one of the most popular breeds in the United States today. This majestic breed traces back to the Roman Empire and has been a valuable companion to farmers, ranchers, and families for centuries since.
After researching this breed and making the decision to welcome an amazing dog into your life, we would be happy to help make that dream come true for you.
Our main focus is corsos, but we also breed the American bully, a loyal and sweet companion for individuals and families alike. Learn more about our puppy raising process and our bloodlines below!
Socializing these pups is key to the great temperments we achieve here at Crystal Mountain. This begins the second they’re born, as we are present for all births, interact with moms throughout, and handle babies from the very first minutes of life. We strive to heavily socialize within our home and kennels only, with our children and grandchildren on a daily basis, to ensure all pups are prepared for a family when it’s time to go home. We work on basic commands like sit, no bite, and no jump from the time they’re standing on all fours.
Potty training to a tray/grate area begins at three weeks when we incorporate some mush feedings into their diet. We have a no paws on the ground until fully vaccinated policy for all pups to reduce the possible exposure to disease and parasites. Individual condos (crates) are introduced at five weeks to start the training of sleeping alone in a crate for those that plan to use them when they go to new homes.
Tail docking and dew claw removal is standard with all pups within the first four days of life. We offer the option for a perfect ear crop at the five week mark for an additional fee. Ears are normally totally healed and most of the time standing properly by their go home date.
All of our adults are on Nuvet supplement to ensure they’re getting the nutrients they need to remain healthy at all times even during pregnancy and nursing. These nutrients travel thru the mother’s milk to the pups as an extra added boost of support. When pups are weaned , they also begin taking this supplement. We want all our babies to be as healthy as possible at all times. All new pups are sent home with a Nuvet starter kit, AKC paperwork, vet records, microchip information, and a small bag of dogfood to make the transition to whatever food their new owners decide to feed go a bit smoother.
We want everyone to know that there are scammers everywhere out there. Whether you purchase a pup from us or not, please make sure you’re dealing with a legit person. We are always willing to FaceTime (not just send you a video) with our pups or adults at any time. Any reputable breeder should offer this to a potential buyer. We take appointments for an in-person visit to our small facility anytime.
